About Dr. Muath

A clinician and academic at the intersection of science and culture.

Dr. Muath Alzarooni is dual-licensed by the Department of Health, Abu Dhabi, as a Consultant Psychiatrist and Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist. He completed two clinical fellowships in Canada — in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Ottawa, and in Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) at McGill University — giving him a particular depth of expertise in ADHD across the lifespan.
He has worked across leading child and adolescent mental health services in the UAE and Canada, including the Montreal Children's Hospital, the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO), and the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre. He currently serves as a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist at the American Center for Psychiatry and Neurology (ACPN), Al Falah City, Abu Dhabi, and as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU).
He is the Founding President of the Emirates ADHD Chapter. With over a decade of experience in child mental health, he previously served as Clinical Lead of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (SEHA).
