About Dr. Muath

Dr. Muath Alzarooni is a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist at American Hospital Dubai. He is dual-licensed by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) as both a Consultant Psychiatrist and a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist. He completed two clinical fellowships in Canada: Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Ottawa, and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) at McGill University. This combined training underpins his expertise in ADHD across the lifespan.
He has worked across leading child and adolescent mental health services in the UAE and Canada, including the Montreal Children’s Hospital, the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO), and the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre. He currently serves as a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist at American Hospital Dubai and as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU).
He is the Founding President of the Emirates ADHD Chapter. With over a decade of experience in child mental health, he previously served as Clinical Lead of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (SEHA).
